It is recommended that patients sleep for at least 2-6 hours following their procedure to allow the eye time to recover. A scratchy, stinging sensation following surgery is normal and will last for the first 2-3 days. Most patients rate this discomfort as mild. Vision is usually blurry for the first few days but will greatly improve within a week. Full visual results may take 1-3 months to achieve as the epithelium returns to normal. It is normal for vision to fluctuate during this time period. Daily follow-up visits may be required for the first few days after a PRK procedure so healing may be carefully monitored. PRK is just as advanced as LASIK and is often times a better choice for certain patients. During our complementary consultation our doctors will decide the best treatment course for your eyes.
